And come they did. Some were regulars, who've been there often since this meal ministry began 10 or so years ago. Some were first-timers who had gotten the word on the street. The 80 or so folks who came to eat were of at least four different races, and spanned in age from 6 months old to senior citizens. They were the urban poor; some straggling in and looking out-of-sorts, and many were fresh-faced kids eager for a real just-cooked meal.

Most returned for seconds. They were polite, and ranged from silent to bubbly. Our leaders were nothing short of inspiring.
