I usually do all the work on my truck however I was afraid I might not be able to tackle this one. Guy I have doing the work is doing the head gasket, timing chain, water pump, thermostat for $500 in labor + parts. Was going to be $1200 out the door until he found out that I had a cracked head ($460) and a crack in my exhaust manifold ($150). I just bought a used head from a local jy ($200) and took it this morning to have it tested. New engine for $2000?
