All Quicken files still reported database corruption. All the connection problems were with 6 accounts at Wells-Fargo.
As you suggested I completely deactivated all of these accounts and reactivated them. The connection problems went away!
However I still have a corrupt database which left me questioning the stability of the whole system. I tried a QXF export and import into a blank file but that still resulted in a corrupted QDF. I then exported my data to a QIF file. I created a new blank QDF and imported this data. I still had a few specific records that were reported as damaged but the QDF passed validations and super-validations without any reported corruption. I saw no generic 'QDF: Damaged data record'.
I then did a file copy. The result of that is no damaged records and no corruption.
I have all my legacy data with the exception of my investment history and scheduled transactions. I was able to download 1 years worth of investment data but that came through with some weird placeholder data that took me a while to sort out. I was able to recreate the scheduled transactions without much effort. So there is a way without starting from scratch. I'm surprised I had not read about using the QIF file anywhere.
At this point all seems well with the exception of a huge hole in my investment data. This causes the historical net worth to be incomplete. First world problem.) Is there no official method to extract and import historical investment data?
I don't understand why Quicken does not allow importing investment data from the QIF. It's in the QIF file. It will export it but will not import it. I've seen a method of massaging the header of the QIF file to get the investment data imported.
I may give it a try.
