Took a quick look at the diagram. Looks like this kind my have a release rod you need to pull. Remove the front grill above the door and on the left side (?) there is a rod you have to pull to release it from the mounting plate on the back wall. You will want to have it unplugged and the two mounting bolts inside the top cabinet removed first.

I am trying to remove a Kenmore Spacemaster over the hood microwave. Its an old beast from 1985 and the model number is 5. The manual provided on this site.

It may also be easier to pull the stove out of the way too. I have seen more then one glass top stove busted up from a microwave or even a tool getting dropped on them.

I have seen more then one glass top stove busted up from a microwave or even a tool getting dropped on them. Hello=) I have this same problem. I unsrewed the 2 top screws so the microwave hung down. Then I pulled the release latch and I push up the rear of the microwave, but still no use. Do you have any more expert advice? 3 people came to try and remove it with no luck=( Thank you.
